Cameron, Missouri — Carolyn Ann Scott, 95, of Cameron, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 25, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Carolyn was born on July 7, 1930, in Cameron, Missouri, to Frank and Lucille (Watson) Bennett.

Carolyn graduated from Cameron High School in 1947, then went on to graduate from finishing school. On September 19, 1948, she married Malcolm Scott, who preceded her in death. Carolyn was a devoted member of Cameron United Methodist Church, where she played the piano for many years. She also shared her musical talents at the Missouri Veterans Home, The Village, and other nursing homes around town.

Carolyn worked as a secretary for Cameron Savings & Loan and JB-LB Insurance. She later worked alongside her husband, Malcolm, as co-owner and operator of Scotty’s Carriage Works.

More than anything, Carolyn loved God, her family and friends fiercely. She spent nearly 96 years spreading love, kindness, faith, music, and joy everywhere she went. She had a special gift for making people feel welcomed, lighter, and loved, and she constantly reminded those around her to smile, keep going, and spread happiness to others. Bright colors were among her favorites because she herself brought brightness into every room she entered — a light she passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malcolm; her son, Charles; her son-in law, Brad Hutchens; and her brothers, Ross Bennett and Ray Bennett.

Survivors include her sons, Gary (Cindy) Scott of Commerce Township, Michigan; Ronald (Robbin) Scott of Overland Park, Kansas; and Mike (Adrienne) Scott of Maysville, Missouri; her daughter, Kay Hutchens of McKinney, Texas; her brother, Lee (Sandy) Bennett of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Cameron United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at Cameron Memory Gardens.
