Margarete Sue Zimmerman
1938 – 2025
Margarete Sue Zimmerman, 86, of Cameron, passed away peacefully, November 11, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was born December 7, 1938 to Frederick M. and Anna Laura (Ford) Buck in Cameron, Missouri.
Margaret Sue was a graduate of Cameron High School class of 1956. She attended Platte Guard Business College and worked as an office administrator for the telephone company. She was a member of chapter BK of P.E.O., Beta Sigma Phi, Sweet Adelines, Cameron Historical Society and Cameron United Methodist Church.
Margarete Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family fiercely and without reservation. She believed in the best of everyone and did not let the opinion of others sway her loyalty. Margarete Sue was very brave and courageous. She raised her three children without help and then opened her arms to Jerry’s children. Through the years, she met challenge after challenge with a smile on her face and her head held high. She persevered and powered through the challenges when others would have folded.
Margaret Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; son, Scott Carrel; brother, Dr. Alan Buck.
She is survived by daughter, Stephanie (Steve) Williams of Cameron; son, Steve (Donna Seiber) Carrel, Tucson, AZ; daughter, Jami Zimmerman, Blue Springs, MO; son, Jim (Crissy) Zimmerman, Platte City, MO; sister, Liz (Kitch) Kirkendoll, Cameron; 5 grandchildren, Thomas (Cassy) Williams, Holly (Craig) Leach, Gage Zimmerman, Taylor Zimmerman, Keely (JP) Jacks; 9 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beverly Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Joe Zimmerman; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, MO. Visitation, 1:00-2:00 PM, prior to the service. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Cameron, MO.
