Stephen E. Whiteaker
August 30, 1956 – October 15, 2025
Stephen “Steve” Edward Whiteaker, 69, of Cameron, Missouri, passed away October 15, 2025, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born August 30, 1956, in Cameron, Missouri, to John T. and Sue A. (Roberts) Whiteaker.
A 1974 graduate of Cameron High School, Steve proudly served in the United States Navy. Known as a jack of all trades, he was always willing to help anyone in need. A proud veteran and devoted Christian, he loved the Lord, his family, and spending time fishing and being outdoors.
He married Denise Huffman on January 8, 2010.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Stephen; niece, Chelsey Borchardt; and nephew, Tucker Borchardt. Survivors include his wife, Denise, of the home; siblings Bill (Debbie) Whiteaker, Cheryl Balke, Randy (Liz) Whiteaker, Jim “Tuck” Whiteaker, and Dan Whiteaker; four stepsons, Charlie Huffman, Mitch (Stephanie) Huffman, Paul (Shyanne) Huffman, and Aric (Jennifer) Huffman; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Missouri UTV Patriot Riders, organizers of one of Steve’s favorite yearly events.
Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am -12:00 pm. Prayer service 12:00 pm with military honors immediately following at Poland-Thompson Chapel.
