Paul W. Watson
1946-2025
Omaha, Nebraska- Paul William Watson, 78, formerly of Cameron, passed away February 28, 2025. Paul was born September 8, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Everett and Katherine (Caldwell) Watson.
Paul was raised on a farm south of Cameron and graduated from Cameron High School in 1964. After graduating from Northwest Missouri State University in 1968, he was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam. Paul, an E4, received a Bronze Star and National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on July 20, 1971. Following his army service, he taught Industrial Arts at high schools in Iowa and Missouri.
Paul married Katherine Wilson on January 11, 1974 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. His career as an underwriter began at Cameron Mutual Insurance Company in 1974. Later he worked at insurance companies in Nebraska, Georgia, Connecticut and Missouri until retiring in 2011. Paul was an avid sports fan, following the Nebraska Baseball team and attending the College World Series for over thirty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Charlene Pulliam.
Survivors: wife, Kathy, of the home; daughter, Lori Ann Watson, Elkhorn, Nebraska, and son, Neil Watson, Lincoln, Nebraska; and siblings, Eugene Watson, Palm Harbor, Florida and Julaine Lowers, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Services: 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Poland-Thompson Funeral Home.
Visitation one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
Burial in Graceland Cemetery.
