Union Star, Missouri - Jack Richardson, 85, peacefully passed away on January 31,
2025, at his home. He was born in Osborn, Missouri on May 22, 1939, to George and
Jessie Richardson.
Jack graduated from Plattsburg High School and received an associate’s degree from
Missouri Western State College. He was an engineer for the Burlington Northern
Railroad for over 40 years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents; George and Jessie (Caldwell) Richardson and
brothers, Jim and Charlie Richardson.
He is survived by his son, Cornel (Retha) Richardson, Azle TX, and daughter, Marcia
(Kelly) Lykins, St. Joseph, MO; two grandchildren, Chasidy Richardson, Fort Worth, TX,
and Ali Hughes (Shelby) Platte City, MO; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Derrick, and
Adalyn; one nephew, Jimmy Richardson, and several cousins.
Jack loved living and working on the farm. He loved animals, especially his cat, Candy.
After retirement, he loved going to his granddaughter’s basketball games at Benedictine
College, where he was affectionately known to everyone as “Grandpa Jack.”
