EDITORIAL: Bat Signals For Crazy People

Yesterday marked a National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk, assassinated on September 10 while spreading his Turning Point USA message. His death forces a chilling question on all of us: if we disagree with someone, can we or should we wish them harm—or even death?

That question became painfully real on September 15, five days after Kirk’s death, when Republican Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno addressed the tone of today’s political discourse. Moreno urged everyone, on both sides of the aisle, to step back from the escalation of hatred.
