Communication a Plus – Civic Engagement Still Disappointing

Following up on the April 2nd headline stating “School Board Candidates Emphasize Communication…”, it is encouraging to read detailed reports of such meetings as the one on school wastewater sampling and the regularly scheduled April School Board meeting. The latter did come across to this attendee with a refreshing sense that members’ thoughts and concerns were being communicated in the public forum. Thank you!

Nevertheless, I am still concerned about public engagement. On April 21st, I had hoped to see one phase of democracy in action – to witness the swearing in of three recently elected board members and the board reorganization. I was disappointed.
