Schools are meant to be places where students feel safe, respected, and able to focus on learning. While administrators make difficult decisions every day, it’s important to remember that those decisions directly affect the students who walk the halls. When policies begin taking away basic privacy, students deserve the opportunity to ask questions and have their voices heard.
One issue that has raised concern among many students is the removal of the entrance doors to the boys’ and girls’ restrooms. While this may have been done with good intentions, such as preventing vaping or other misconduct, it has also created unintended consequences that deserve attention.
