What began in 2018 as a small ride with about 30 units and a donation of roughly $3,000 has grown into one of the region’s biggest annual shows of support for veterans.

Organizers of the 8th Annual Patriot Ride said Saturday’s event drew more than 1,000 people, featured about 400 UTVs and raised more than $105,000 for the Veterans Assistance League, with the final total expected to climb closer to $110,000 once everything is completed. Founder Amy Ford said that would push the event’s lifetime giving to about $375,000.
