Missouri Department of Natural Resources to release new edition of “Geologic Wonders and Curiosities of Missouri”

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 16, 2026 - 

The Department of Natural Resources’ Missouri Geological Survey is releasing a new edition of its flagship publication “Geologic Wonders and Curiosities of Missouri.” The book is a compilation of the state’s most interesting natural sites, providing geological interpretation and guidance for visiting hundreds of publicly accessible locations across Missouri. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its first publication, the new edition has also been updated and expanded to include additional sites not previously featured, plus several new chapters.
