Schaeffer’s Racing Oil Night at the Races brought out 98 total cars across nine classes to I-35 Speedway this past Saturday night. The speedway also honored two former racers who have passed away with the Cleetus “Mudcat” Murray and Darrell Whitt Memorial Race. To honor the drivers, the Stock Car and Hobby Stock feature races presented the missing man formation during the pace laps. The speedway also welcomed back the Open Vintage Series for the first time this season.
For on-track action, the E-Mods rolled out first. Chris Dishong made his move on the first lap, going from third to first, and would not be caught again. Kenny Reed finished second, Garrett Stonum third, Blake Bland fourth, and Mark Anderson passed eight cars to finish fifth.
