As Farmers State Bank prepares to join a larger regional banking company, leaders on both sides of the deal are emphasizing a consistent message: for customers in Cameron, the day-to-day experience is not expected to change.
The bank’s parent company, FSC Bancshares, entered into an agreement April 29 to be acquired by Jefferson City-based Hawthorn Bancshares in a transaction valued at approximately $28.3 million. The deal remains subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, but both FSC President Michael Poland and Hawthorn CEO Brent Giles said they expect the transaction to close by mid-August.
