Dr. Fred Kiehl Honored with CRMC Remembrance Ceremony

Posted 6/15/26

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the late Dr. Frederick Kiehl, DO, FACOFP, was memorialized with a remembrance ceremony at Cameron Regional Medical Center. A framed portrait of Dr. Kiehl has been preserved between those of Dr. E.R. Schmidt and Dr. L. W. McDonald on CRMC’s Wall of Honor and was unveiled by Dr. Kiehl’s family members — his daughter, Dr. Elisa Vinyard, and his son, David Kiehl.

Dr. Kiehl’s wife of 56 years, Sharon; son-in-law Tom Vinyard; and grandchildren, Emilie and Alexander, were also in attendance, along with a host of fellow physicians, nurses, hospital and clinic staff, patients, community members, and friends. During the remembrance ceremony, Warren McElwain, President of the CRMC Board of Directors, spoke of Dr. Kiehl’s long-standing medical service to rural northwest Missouri and his eternally-positive outlook. His ability to engage in genuine conversation with anyone, regardless of relationship or background, was of particular note.
