Cameron “Visitor in Residence” Embroiled in Legal Stonewall over Titles to Inherited Properties

When Ron Johnston returned to Cameron after four decades away, it wasn’t to retire quietly. What began as a bittersweet homecoming has turned into a story of friendship, faith, and unexpected responsibility — one that’s drawn him deep into a tangle of real estate, probate law, and unanswered questions.

Johnston, now 82, lived in Cameron with his wife of 62 years, Susie, from 1972 to 1979. A jack-of-all-trades with a career spanning finance, banking, construction, real estate, and even auto mechanics, he worked for  Financial Computing Corporation during those years. The couple raised two children, now grandparents themselves, and — as Ron likes to joke — “2.99 great-grandchildren,” with the newest member of the Johnston clan due any day.
