As communities across the country celebrated America's 250th anniversary this summer, six members of Cameron United Methodist Church spent the week in Montgomery, Alabama, exploring another essential chapter of the nation's story, one marked by the struggle for civil rights and the ongoing pursuit of justice.
The service-learning trip blended historical education with volunteer service, giving participants the opportunity to learn from experts, engage with local ministries, and serve alongside organizations working to address food insecurity, housing challenges, and economic inequities.
