Raymond Whitaker 1929-2018
Cameron, Missouri- Raymond Whitaker, 88, passed away on August 14, 2018.
Raymond was born on October 21, 1929 to Lyle and Ella Mae (Botts) Whitaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; married his wife, Monica Murphy on August 18, 1948 who passed away in 1995; son, Joe; infant daughter, Mary Ellen; brother, Richard and son-in-law, Monty Biggerstaff.
Raymond was a 1947 graduate of Cameron High School. He farmed and worked as a school bus driver for 43 years with the Cameron School District, before retiring.
He was a member of the St. Munchin Catholic Church, Cameron, avid sports fan and was a past member on the Cameron Cooperative Board.
Survivors: 2 sons, Lyle (Kelly) Whitaker, Macon, MO, John (Cindee) Whitaker, Hamilton, MO; 2 daughters, Martha (Jerry) Gates, Cameron, MO and Julie Biggerstaff, Gladstone, MO; daughter-in-law, Joyce Whitaker; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Raymond was loved and known by all. He loved his family. They will miss his sense of humor and his story telling,
Services were Saturday Aug. 18th, 2018 at Cameron Munchin, Cameron.
Burial: St. Munchin Catholic Cemetery, Cameron. Memorial donation to St. Munchin Catholic Church and/or Missouri Veteran’s Assistance League, Cameron.
