Change made in DeKalb County budget

Present: Presiding Commissioner Harold Allison, East District Commissioner Garry McFee, West District Commissioner Wayne Colhour and County Clerk Melissa Meek.

Meeting was called to order and the Pledge of Allegiance was said by all in attendance.

Harold Allison made the motion to accept the minutes as read. Wayne Colhour seconded the motion. Motion carried, 3-0.

Larry Poston discussed a bridge on Pleasant Road.

Marge Hinkle stopped by to discuss the Sherman Township board.

Sandy Estes, State Tax Commission, and DeKalb County Assessor Ruth Ross were here to discuss the Assessor's budget and a transfer that was done Dec. 6, 2010. In question was the amount and how it was going to be paid back. The Assessor agreed the amount is $5,387 and that amount will be transferred back to Road and Bridge. A copy of the minutes and an amended budget will be sent to Ross, and the State Tax Commission, upon talking to the State Auditor's Office.

Allison, Colhour and McFee attended the Next Era Energy meeting in Colfax Township on Thursday, April 21. This was an informational meeting for those involved.

Erik Tate, DeKalb County Prosecutor, discussed with the commissioners the need for a Victim's Advocate for the county. He is in the process of applying for a grant. The grant will be for two years. The commissioners agree there is a need, but if there is no grant money available the county will not fund the position.

Brenda Kennedy, Region D, and Larry King, Clinton County Commissioner, met with the commission to get checks signed. Region D is having a tire pick up May 7 at the Maysville Fairgrounds. Larry King visited with the commissioners about Clinton County and they discussed what was happening in DeKalb County.

Wes Moore, MoDOT, called to discuss traffic concerns the DeKalb County Commission has when MoDOT begins work on Highway 36. He is going to get back with the commission in approximately two weeks.

LEPC has a meeting April 28, 2011, at 7 p.m., at the firehouse in Maysville.

Tri County Health has a meeting April 29, 2011, at 1 p.m. in Stanberry.

DDJR has a meeting in Pattonsburg April 29, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the DeKalb-Davies Regional Jail.

Ruth Crowther and Jim Barnum with the Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation Group came to discuss with the commissioners their group and what services they have to offer.

The DeKalb County Commissioners appointed Illah Marie Pulley, Lynn Griffith and Marge Hinkle back to the Sherman Township Board. They will be in contact with Gayle Billups and see if she would continue on the board.

The commissioners signed warrants for payroll and accounts payable.

Colhour made the motion to adjourn the meeting. McFee seconded. Motion carried, 3-0.
