One person was taken to the hospital following a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 36 in DeKalb County Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 59-year old Stephen Duzenberry was transported by Cameron Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The accident occurred about 2:00 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway three miles west of Cameron.

Duzenberry was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound when the car went off the north side of the road and struck an embankment. The car came to rest facing west.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department, Cameron Fire Department and Cameron Police responded to the scene.
