A Cameron resident suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Daviess County Saturday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 34-year old Timothy N. Malone was transported by Daviess County EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The patrol reports the accident occurred at 10:56 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-35 at the 61-mile marker, near the Winston exit.

Courtney L. Malone of Cameron was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima northbound and passing a 2010 Ford E-450 U-Haul box truck pulling a small U-Haul trailer driven by Dawn Carper of Fort Madison, Iowa. The Altima struck the tow unit of the box truck from the rear, and Malone then lost control of the car and went off the east side of the highway. Carper brought the U-Haul to a controlled stop on the northbound shoulder.
